Cuisine Japanese
- 1 cup strawberries fresh or frozen
- 2 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup hot water
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- ice cubes
Strawberry Puree
Cut the strawberries into quarters and toss them into a small saucepan. Add the sugar.
On medium heat, stir the strawberry sugar mixture until the strawberry releases its juices. Using a fork, break down the strawberries until it becomes a sauce. Put it in the fridge to chill.
Assemble the Latte
In a serving glass, pour the strawberry puree into the cup. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
Then gently add the milk, leaving about half of an inch to the rim of the glass.
Add the chilled matcha tea to fill the remainder of the glass. Tip: Pour the three components (strawberry puree, milk, and matcha) slowly and gently into the cup to create three distinct layers.
Serve, stir, and enjoy immediately!
