Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries fresh or frozen
  • 2 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • ice cubes

Instructions

Matcha Tea

  • Add the matcha powder into a cup. Pour the hot water on top and whisk thoroughly until the matcha powder is fully dissolved. Chill the matcha tea in the fridge.

Strawberry Puree

  • Cut the strawberries into quarters and toss them into a small saucepan. Add the sugar.
  • On medium heat, stir the strawberry sugar mixture until the strawberry releases its juices. Using a fork, break down the strawberries until it becomes a sauce. Put it in the fridge to chill.

Assemble the Latte

  • In a serving glass, pour the strawberry puree into the cup. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • Then gently add the milk, leaving about half of an inch to the rim of the glass.
  • Add the chilled matcha tea to fill the remainder of the glass. Tip: Pour the three components (strawberry puree, milk, and matcha) slowly and gently into the cup to create three distinct layers.
  • Serve, stir, and enjoy immediately!
